The Holidays

Every body likes to celebrate the holidays. But Why? Its the end of the year and everyone knows that with the end of the year means, THE TAX'S will follow. Then comes the question do I have enough deductions to get something back from the IRS? or am I hoping to owe UNCLE SAM money?
Yes the Holidays are filled with fun, parties, and gift exchange. Shopping for the perfect gift for the love ones and the children. Then comes the Uncles, Aunts, Grandma and Grandpa. Before you know it, the credit cards are maxed out and then he thought of oh no, I have to pay this back next year.
Yes the holidays are filled with fun, over eating the sweets and holiday meals. The gaining of ten to fifteen pounds that with the new year you know you will half to lose after the first. of the year. It will be one of your New Yeas resolutions.
What will be your New Year Resolution? But more important, how many of those Resolutions will you keep? One, Two, maybe three out of a list of things you want to change in the New Year?
I myself never make Resolutions for I know I can't keep them. Our world is always changing and it's best to live each day to the fullest and never make list you know you can't keep.
Well I won't bore you with my negative thoughts on the holidays. I wish everyone whether they celebrate the holidays or not to take care, don't drink and drive, always have a designative driver if you go to a party where there is plenty to drink so you get home safely.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO EVERYONE, WHERE EVER YOU ARE.

HOPE?

Hope?

How many times have you hoped for something, or wished for something that you really need? Not just for material things, but for health, better living conditions, or just a way to be able to sleep at night without worry.

I know the feeling, I haven’t slept a full night in a couple of years. I hoped things in my life would get better, but the worry keeps me up most nights. With only a couple of hours of sleep a night my body and my mind show the wear of lack of sleep. Even eating I have a hard time, with only one meal a day to keep me going.

Yes, I know the empty feeling of hope which doesn’t describe what I feel most of the time. Yes material things are important, but what about peace of mind? I hoped for peace of mind for the past couple of years. It always comes down to the same question, how long can you hoped for life to get better.

As I tell my children, who are grown now and have a life of their own, to keep things simple and lay it on the doorsteps of heaven. There is always an answer out there and you just have to wait until the answer is given. It will come, maybe not as quick as we want, but it will come.

                                                MAY GOD BLESS!

Imagination

Imagination. Do you remember when you were a child growing up? Did you have an a imaginary friend you played with? Did you make up stories in your mind and tell to you toy soldiers or dolls?

I know I did. I like telling stories. Most adults forget how much fun it was when we were young. Why we could make up stories and even have our dolls or soldiers talk back to us. Writing a book is the same thing. As we get older we forget the things that made us happy and we shut out the imagination we had when we get older.

Writing a novel is using our imagination to the full extent of our mind. It tells a story from the beginning to the end. All of it is from our mind. We use that part of our mind to the fullest.

Have you ever dreamed of having a big house or maybe a expensive car? Dreamed at how it would feel to be driving it walking through a house filled with fine furniture? Closing your eyes and seeing every bump in the road speeding along a winding road hands tightly on the steering wheel.

Using our imagination is how author write their books. This is how writers spend their time by dreaming of how to start and how to finish a novel. We love writing and love to tell stories. So don’t lock your imagination away. Dream a little, this will keep you young and the feeling you had when you were a child.

MAY GOD BLESS.

Canadian Thanksgiving Monday

Monday is the Canadian Thanksgiving. Different that our Thanksgiving in America. We celebrate our Thanksgiving in November. There was an explorer from England looking for the northern pass that found Canada. So he decided since he was from the old country which they celebrated Thanksgiving on a certain date that the new land he had discovered they should continue the same in the new world.

Indigenous peoples in North America have a history of holding communal feasts in celebration of the fall harvest that predates the arrival of European settlers. The Smithsonian Institute has noted that some First Nations “sought to insure a good harvest with dances and rituals.” The European settlers brought with them a similar tradition of harvest celebrations (for which the symbol was the cornucopia, or horn of plenty), which dates back to European peasant societies.

The very first Thanksgiving celebration in North America took place in 1578 in Canada when Martin Frobisher, an explorer from England. in search of the Northwest Passage. He wanted to give thanks for his safe arrival to the New World. That means the first Thanksgiving in Canada was celebrated 43 years before the rebellion.

The In 1838, Lower Canada used Thanksgiving to celebrate the end of the Lower Canada Rebellion. The Lower Canada Rebellion, commonly referred to as the Patriots' War by Québécois, is the name given to the armed conflict in 1837–38 between the rebels of Lower Canada and the British colonial power of that province. Together with the simultaneous rebellion in the neighboring colony of Upper Canada, it formed the two Canadas were merged into a united Province of Canada, which observed Thanksgiving six times from 1850 to 1865. During this period, Thanksgiving was a solemn, mid-week celebration.

So if you didn’t know the history of the Canadian Thanksgiving now you do. I hope this has been informative. Remember to be thankful for what you have and the blessing in which you have had the pass year. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you Canadians.

MAY GOD BLESS!

Todays blog is abut FEAR. As children we’re afraid of the dark, strangers, and  when we do something wrong a spanking. As adults those fears go away and our fears become larger even if we don’t speak of them. They still exist.

The fears we have as an adult are is my pay check going to cover my bills? Is there going to be a lay off, and if so will my unemployment check cover my bills. The list can go on and on. Will I have enough money in my retirement fund be enough to pay for my child’s college tuition and what do I do if it isn’t.

How about that dream of having everything you ever wanted, will it come to pass or will I be eating dog food in my retirement years. Yes there is a lot of people who are to old to get a job and are suppose to be in their golden years that buy dog food and cat food to eat for they can’t afford to buy groceries.

It’s very sad to think about. It’s a very real thing. They don’t tell anyone and go on acting like everything is okay. Even their children don’t know the problems their parents have. Hopefully their house is paid for and they won’t lose it. If not every dime they get from social security goes to pay for that mortgage.

Social security is very little. When you work all your life and can’t wait until you can sleep in and go where you want only to find out your retirement isn’t what you thought. Your plans go out the window. Going to plan B isn’t what you want either.

Well, if you’re reading this and still working, think hard about when you turn sixty five. Put an extra ten or twenty in that saving account so you won’t get a surprise when you retire. At least you will have a little more in your account to help when you do retire.

MAY GOD BLESS!

BLOGGING!

Blogging, for must writers Blogging comes easy. For me blogging is hard. Trying to pick something everyone would be interested in isn’t easy to me. Trying  to think of a great blog can take a back seat and one that I feel hard to get back to if I don’t do it as soon as I wake in the morning. Putting it off until later is what I do most of the time, and then I never get back to.

I just wrote on Twitter about the guy who need money for beer and ended up with a millon dollars and his picture on the beer can, plus free beer for a year. It just didn’t seem fair he faired so much. I on the other hand am doing a fund raiser for my granddaughter and have only raised three hundred dollars. Maybe I should have asked for booze or beer and we would have raised a million  dollars also.

It just didn’t seem fair to me. My granddaughter needs a kidney and a pancreas. She has two small children and is really depressed for she doesn’t even know if she will be around to see Christmas with her children. She isn’t married and her mother is helping her with the kids. She is in the hospital every other week it seems and her condition is deteriorating rapidly.

It’s cost a lot for a donor to be tested and if a match there is the medical expenses for the hospital, more testing, and the surgery. It can run up to thousands of dollars out of her pocket that she doesn’t have.

AS I said on Twitter, maybe I should have asked for BEER or some other kind of booze and I would have raised more money quicker. There is only one problem with that request, I don’t drink beer and very seldom drink liqueur. So asking my eyes for one of those things would be right. Maybe I’m just to honest.

Well I guess venting on my blog is one way to cope with my disappointment. I don’t really think many people read my blog, but once I get it out of my system makes me feel better. Now all I have to do is worry about finding a donor and maybe one will turn up in time.

Thanks go out to all that have given and I pray for your families that you never have to go through this kind of worry.

MAY GOD BLESS!

Weedends

Weekends

Have you really paid attention to how fast weekends go by? It takes forever for the week to go by and then when the weekend comes, gee it flies by in the blink of an eye.

If you go out on Saturday night, on Sunday you sleep late and without warning the sun shines through that window and it’s Monday all over again. The weekend has flown by without warning. Here you are wondering where did it go?

Week starts all over again with the same ho hum drum routine. Day in and day out. Work, work, work, yea the weekend is finally here, opps, there it goes, and you’re right back to that awful Monday again. Same routine, day after day, week after week, month after month.

Now if you are one of those lucky ones that can take a vacation? Well, congratulations, the problem with vacations is the same as weekends. It comes to slow and goes to fast. You plan for a complete year to where you are going to go, what you are going to do and then when it comes, nothing you really planned on doing gets’ done!

If you work for yourself, that’s a different story. Forget vacations, forget about the weekends, for everything you have left to do around your house, yard or vehicles has to be taken care of on what else? On the weekend. So the weekend plans are out the window unless you have a yard person, a maid, and throw in a butler or two. Then you can do whatever you want.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this blog, for me the weekend is gone and it’s back to work.

MAY GOD BLESS!

LIFES' CHALLANGES!

Life Challenges

Have you ever stopped to think about your life challenges? Talking about good and bad. Life throws us curves everyday and whether we are ready to take them on sometimes; we have to. Like today I worry about my family. Right now, I’m facing the fact which is life or death of my granddaughter. The doctors have told her she needs to find a donor for a new kidney, hers’ are shutting down. She also needs a new Panaceas, which you can’t find a donor for that, it has to come from a person who dies and the organ can be harvested shortly after death.

My challenge is how to get around without walking on my left foot. I broke it two weeks ago. I have this huge boot on it and not suppose to put weight on my foot at all. It’s really hard to use crutches and carry anything. So to make things a little simpler I have a pouch around my neck which is small that I can carry my phone in.

I also work, which I’m suppose to keep my foot elevated. Try that sitting at a desk! Then there is the problem with dealing with your clients. They want everything done yesterday, and you are in so much pain you can’t even think straight. Forget about taking drugs, they only make you sleepy and make your thought into foggy territory. So forget the drugs and muttal through the pain.

What are your life challenges? On a daily basis, or monthly, how about the year? Have you thought about it? Is it taking on a new job? Making a life changing decision? Or maybe just deciding what to have for dinner. Everyday we face our fears, our hopes and our dreams. Whether it’s small or large, we pray everyday for a better life and the knowledge to make it better. It’s up to us to make our life’s better and to face our daily challenges head on.

I’m a writer and my challenges are to help my granddaughter find that new kidney to keep her alive for her two small children. To help her, to be able to see another Christmas with them. To continue writing my mystery novels and to keep my business running to help me pay my bills and have the type of life I want for my husband and I.

It’s almost like having a bucket list. What’s on your bucket list? Have you checked off anything on yours?

                                                                                MAY GOD BLESS.

Summertime!

Summertime, yes the summer is fading fast into fall. Soon the leaves on the trees will be starting to turn colors. The green color will turn into in gold, red and yellow. Than the green carpet on the grass will slow down and won’t have to be mowed as often as it does in the summer.

School will be started and the big yellow school buses will be out on the road like a fine tuned army picking up the children to take them to school. Lessons to learn, but their minds on the summertime things they did.

As parents, we don’t think of anything but the work we still do everyday, day in and day out. October will be just around the corner and the nip in the air. It marks the beginning of winter, Halloween, and other times to come. Yes, winter right around the corner.

The first snowfall, it blankets the ground like a well placed blanket. Pies and cakes being made to prepare for Thanksgiving, the huge turkey in the oven with all the trimmings on the stove. But wait what comes next you ask? Why that old jolly man in the red suit, driving a red sled pulled by tiny reindeer. The smell of the Christmas tree. It fills the house and all those brightly colored packages under the tree.

Now the New Year will begin. We say goodbye to another year gone by. We start all over to wait impatiently for summer to begin again. Even though we have marked another birthday on the calendar, we still love our childish things and wish that summer never has to end.

MAY GOD BLESS!

Living & Dying

Living and Dying.

How many of you have thought about living and dying? Be honest, everyone has lost someone they loved to death. Whether it was a natural causes death or by accident. Most people don’t want to think about death. But it is as natural as taking that first breath when born. That is unless it is caused by an accident.

How many of you have actually have prepared for death? Like writing a will, telling or writing down what you want when you die. My husband and I have made our wills and both have discussed what to do with our bodies when the time comes.

You may think this is morbid but this is something everyone should discuss with their families. You may think to yourself “hey, I’m young and have many years ahead of me.” Well, my friend you may think that, but someone might disagree.

With all the shootings around us, well, it might be one of those places you find yourself in and receive a bullet. Or a random car crashing into you while on the road or in a store. There are so many things, this day and time that can interfere with us living a long life.

Being prepared for anything that may come along is a smart way to think. Yes, we all don’t want to think we’re going to die. But, being prepared is smart. This should be as natural as you planning to drive to work, eating dinner, or taking that long walk.

So, if you haven’t prepared your will, and what you want with your body when you do die, think about it and make sure you prepare for that day. It could be tomorrow, next year, or fifty years from now. At least you will know things will be taken care of the way you want them to be.

                                                May God Bless!

How to Say Something Nice!

How to not say anything!

When I was raising my children, I tried to teach them not to say anything bad about anyone. Sometimes it was hard for them to keep their tongues from wagging in a negative way. I always told them if you can’t say something nice about someone, don’t say anything. Also, to treat everyone the way you would want them to treat you.

It’s hard to be nice to everyone especially when some people are just plain rude. Those are the ones you would like to blow up at. Tell them to get a reality check. It doesn’t hurt to be nice to them as well.

Not knowing the circumstances as why they are angry or unhappy, this is why saying something nice to is a good reason to treat them with respect as well.

Many times children treat their parents with disrespect, by screaming at them, never saying thank you for what they have given to them. Always criticizing everything they do for them. Instead of being appreciative of how hard they work to give their children the things they want. Standing up for them and even defending them with all their heart.

Why? There is no reason for their brute outburst. Even when children become out of control. There is always a way to sit down and talk it out, yelling isn’t one of them.

My Grandmother always told me, You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.

So next time you feel like screaming at someone, parent, stranger, or a friend, think twice before blowing up. Smile and take a deep breath, walk away until you can get your anger in check and say something nice.

MAY GOD BLESS!

DEPRESSION

This are what the dictonary has as a Explanation:Depression

Medical condition
Depression is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest. There are a number of factors that may increase the chance of depression, including the following: Abuse. Past physical, sexual, or emotional abuse can increase the vulnerability to clinical depression later in life.
Certain medications.

Feelings of severe despondency and dejection, "self-doubt creeps in and that swiftly turns to depression"

Symptoms

Common symptoms include: sadness, tiredness, trouble focusing or concentrating, unhappiness, anger, irritability, frustration, loss of interest in pleasurable or fun activities sleep issues (too much or too little), no energy, craving unhealthy foods, anxiety,

           synonyms: melancholy · misery · sadness · unhappiness · sorrow · woe · gloom · gloominess · dejection · downheartedness · despondency · dispiritedness · low spirits · heavy-heartedness · moroseness · discouragement · despair · desolation · dolefulness · moodiness · pessimism · hopelessness · the slough of despond · upset · tearfulness · the dumps · the doldrums · the blues · one's black dog · a low · the blahs · a funk · a blue funk · the mopes · clinical depression · endogenous depression · reactive depression · postnatal depression · dysthymia · melancholia · dolor · the megrims · mopery · disconsolateness · disconsolation.

Antonyms:cheerfulness psychiatry a mental condition characterized by feelings of severe despondency and dejection, typically also with feelings of inadequacy and guilt, often accompanied by lack of energy and disturbance of appetite and sleep.

A long and severe recession in an economy or market."the depression in the housing market"synonyms: recession · slump · decline · downturn · slowdown · standstill · paralysis · inactivity · stagnation · credit crunch · credit squeeze · hard times · bad times · stag flation
Antonyms: (the Depression the Great Depression) the financial and industrial slump of 1929 and subsequent years.
The action of lowering something or pressing something down.
"depression of the plunger delivers two units of insulin" a sunken place or hollow on a surface. "the original shallow depressions were slowly converted to creeks"
synonyms: hollow · indentation · dent · dint · cavity · concavity · dip · pit · hole · Mpothole · sink · sinkhole · excavation · trough · crater · valley · basin · bowl · fossa · lacuna
antonyms: protuberance
Meteorology a region of lower atmospheric pressure, especially a cyclonic weather system. "hurricanes start off as loose regions of bad weather known as tropical depressions
But if we're talking about humans, there is several reasons that may cause us to fall into depression, so don't ignore your feelings.

The death of a loved one, loss of a job or the ending of a relationship are difficult experiences for a person to endure. It is normal for feelings of sadness or grief to develop in response to such situations. Those experiencing loss often might describe themselves as being "depressed."But being sad is not the same as having depression. The grieving process is natural and unique to each individual and shares some of the same features of depression. Both grief and depression may involve intensive therapy.

You may have trouble doing normal day-to-day activities, and sometimes you may feel as if life isn't worth living. More than just a bout of the blues, depression isn't a weakness and you can't simply "snap out" of it.

SO If you think if you feel you might have depression, find a friend to talk to. Don’t feel like you have no options. Talking about the way you feel can help get whatever is bothering you out in the open. If this has been going on for a long time, seek the help you need from a therapist. It doesn’t mean you are crazy, just because you see a therapist, it just means you know you need help.

I know first hand what depression can do, since I had cancer and the medications they put me on, well, I cry at the drop of a hat, go through anger episodes for no reason, complete shut down at times also. So remember some medications can cause depression also. You if you think it is your medication, call you doctor and discuss it with him or her. Don’t think you are tough enough to go it alone.
There are several forms of depression not only in us, as I’ve pointed out in the above explanations.

So till next week,                 MAY GOD BLESS.

THEN AND NOW!

Then and Now, have you ever stopped to think about what it was like for your parents when they grew up? How about when you grew up? To the life style of the children today compare it to when they growing up.

I like to watch the old movies on TCM and I look at the fashion of the men and women. How different they are from today’s style and even different from when I was growing up. But the odd thing about fashion it is slowly reverts back to the style of the thirties and forties. The only thing different is nobody wears hats anymore.

Even the advise we give our children has changed from when I grew up to the parents of today giving advise is very different. I remember my father telling me to always keep a dime in my shoe when I went out, then when I started dating he told me to keep a quarter in my shoe. There was payphones on every corner. Now there isn’t a payphone in sight.

Today’s generation has a cell phone glued to their ear and a ipad glued to their fingers. Even their parents don’t buy the newspaper anymore. They go online and read the paper from their screens. Back in the old days the people depended on the newspaper for the news, weather, and the want ads for sales and jobs.

Everything revolves around changes whether we want them or not. If we stomp are foot and say we aren’t interested in change, well we get left behind and all alone. Now don’t get me wrong, change is good, but sometimes change is very complicated, when the old days life was simpler and more direct.

The younger generation will never know the simpler way of life and may look at the old black and white movies are being very silly and made to make people laugh. But those old black and white movies are what this nation was made from.

Yes, there was out of work lines at the food banks when jobs couldn’t be found. Much like today, we have churches and shelters for the people who can’t find jobs. There is more opportunity now then back then.

So if you are one to complain take a look at one of the old black and white movies and see basically what it was really like back then.

MAY GOD BLESS!

BLOGGING

Blogging can be fun. When you are a writer, blogging is one of part of the regular things you are expected to do. Although you can think of something to write about for your blog, it can be hard to find the time.

I know some writers that write their blogs every day or three times a week. They also write a newsletter. Newsletters tell their fans what they are doing and keep them basically involved in what they are writing and can look forward to when its published.

A lot of times writers put on their blog recipes they have tried and want your opinion after you try it yourself. Others write about the book they are reading in their spare time. Hoping you will also buy the book and then tell the blogger what did they think of the book.

Having a reader join a book club, is where they all read the same book and learn more about the author. Some will tell they like the author or not. Learning about an author is one of the great things about being a fan. If they like you they will buy every one of the authors books. They will also tell others about how they liked the author and which books they have read written by that author.

Yes, blogging can be fun and can be very instrumental in making the authors fan base larger than if they don’t do blogging. Yes blogging can be fun, instrumental and informative to an author.

Like myself, I try to write my blog every Sunday before anyone gets up at my house. The house is quiet, and leaves plenty of time for me to think about what I’m going to write about. Although sometimes its hard to think of what I want to write about. Some of my writer friends it only takes a second for them to decide what they are going to write about and do it with ease.

I hope if you read my blog you will send me a message to let me know you did take a look and if you read, make a comment about it.

Well, that’s all for today. I hope you enjoyed reading my blog.

MAY GOD BLESS!

Fathers' Day

Fathers Day, How do you celebrate your Father?

Maybe a BBQ? Maybe you take him out for Dinner, or Lunch.

However you celebrate the day remember the good times you have had with your father. Share some of your memories with him. Leave out the bad times like when he took the belt to your bottom. I’m sure he remembers those times as much as you do.

What you don’t know is it hurt him as much as it did you. You may think that isn’t true but trust me, every lick of the strap and he felt it also.

So whatever you do remember your father with love, tenderness and the knowledge he is smarter than you.

This blog is a short one, I remember my father and miss him terribly. He’s passed on, but will never be forgotten. I hold him deep in my heart where he’ll always be.

MAY GOD BLESS!

OH BOY ANOTHER WEEK!

Oh boy! Writing a blog every week is fun, but it’s also hard to think of things that people want to read. Blogging about family, cooking, reading, holidays, and just general things even the weather.

It’s super hard to be creative all the time. Writing a novel is fun and it takes a lot of imagination to comply a full size book. When working on a blog, well, you are writing something interesting, or you hope it’s interesting to others.

I’m a breast cancer survivor and just finished going through treatments for preventive reasons to make sure it doesn’t come back. Am I glad I went through the growling treatments? Yes, but I must say it took a lot to continue those treatments and the expense. From weight lose, to the side effects of radiation are all the things I really don’t wish on anyone.

Although I kept a smile on my face, a spring to my step, and a full size great attitude, to everyone that saw me, they all thought it was great I took thinks so well. And I suppose I did. The real hard thing about all the treatments, was the burning of my skin, not bad, kind of like a sunburn. Then near the end every day around eleven or twelve I would start to lose my voice. Have you ever tried to talk on the telephone and can’t get anything out above a whisper? Well, it sure isn’t fun.

I found the more I talked in the morning, and I’m on the telephone a lot for work, by afternoon, forget it, there wasn’t anything left. As long as I didn’t have to talk in the mornings, I would be able to speak all afternoon. Or most of the afternoon.

They say it should clear up now that I’m off treatments and go back to normal. I guess we’ll see. I wonder how many husbands out there wish their wives would lose their voice?

Anyway, that’s the blog for this week. I hope to have more exciting news next week. Keep cool in the heat and dry in the rain.

MAY GOD BLESS!

Writing a Book?

Writing a book? Thinking of writing a book is what I hear a lot of times from people. They have good ideas but don’t know where or how to start. When they ask me how do you start I tell them for me it’s easy.

I take an idea and think about it and then I start to write. I let the characters tell there story through me. Now you’re wondering how do they tell me what to say? That’s the fun part. Once you have a couple of characters, give them names they begin to tell what they want you to say.

The story line also tells you where they live, and the time period of is what shapes your story.  The first paragraph is the beginning of a book. Once you start your story it will fill in the rest.

Take your time and don’t worry about whether it makes sense or not. When you go back after the first chapter you can change it to make it better or leave it if you like what you have written. But, don’t scrap it. Let someone else read what you wrote see what they think.

Remember sometimes it change to make it go slower or it can be like a flash of light and take off at super speed. The point is writing can be fun and relaxing. Don’t think of it as a challenge but a way of expressing yourself.

If you think you’ll never get done or if you think you have writers block? Stop thinking that way. Write one word, and others will come. If you write one page a day, just think of how many pages your manuscript will have in a year.

MAY GOD BLESS!

PRECIOUS MOMENTS

Precious Moments. Have you ever looked at times in your life that really pleased you? Like when as child is born, when you first fell in love, or when you received your first flowers from someone that was so special you even cried when they were delivered. How about that first kiss?

These are all precious moments in time that we don’t want to forget. We keep those moments locked away for a time in our lives when we need a pick me up. Yes we pull those memories up to somehow cheer us up. Or when we reach our golden years to think back on the times we experienced good times.

We hope, dream, and experience good and bad times, but the bad times we push away and try not to think about. If they were really bad our memories banks seem to bury them so we can’t remember how bad they really were.

I’ve had some really bad times, but the good times our weigh the bad. Now that I’m getting into what they say are my golden years, I look back at the good, the bad and the ugly. I hope and prayer the golden years don’t take my memories away. I want to be able to pull those precious memories up when I’m feeling blue.

So remember when you are sad, pull those precious memories up and smile as you think back and smile. Keep those precious moments close to your heart.

MAY GOD BLESS!

WISHES, PROMISES, PRAYER!

WISHES, PROMISES AND PRAYER!

Let’s start with WISHES. When we are children we wish for so many things, like a new doll, or new bicycle, maybe a new catchers mitt. When we become a teenager, we wish for more flexability in our lives, to stay out later, have a girlfriend or boyfriend, have the best looking person in school ask us out. Now into our adult years we wish for a husband or wife, a child to love and watch grow. We wish for them to have a healthy life. And now you get the jest of wishes.

But wait, what about the times you said something to someone that you WISHED you hadn’t said. Once you have said it, you can’t take it back. You come down with a fatal disease, you wish it hadn’t happened but now you have to deal with it, wishing it to go away doesn’t always work. Maybe you saw someone but never a said a word to this person. Now you wished you had said hello. Took the time to stop them and talked just a few minutes.

PROMISES, have you made a promise lately? Has someone promised you something but didn’t follow through? Promises like when you marry, you make promises in your vows to love, honor, and cherish. How many times have you seen this promise go down the drain. How about when you were a child, you did something wrong? You promised your mom or dad you would never do it again. Did you keep that promise, or did it fall to the wayside also.

We all make promises and I’d like to think we all keep our promises no matter how hard it might be. Promises shouldn’t be given out lightly for the breaking of a promise can be devastating to the person we made that promise too. Think the next time you are making a promise, is it something you really can keep? DON’T make a promise unless you really can follow through and keep that promise.

PRAYER, we all have prayed for something one time or another. Only to be disappointed in our minds those prayers, never answered. Are you sure they weren’t answered? Maybe it just wasn’t the right time for those prayers to be answered. I know how impatient human beings are, I’m right with you. I prayer for answers to many questions and when I don’t get an immediate response I think maybe he didn’t hear me.

So the next time your child wishes for something, or you, be patient. Next time you make a promise, make sure you keep it, unless there is no way you can keep it. Prayer? Don’t give up, sometimes it takes a while for a prayer to be answered. It depends on if the time is right for those prayers to be answered. Sometimes it is answered in a different way then we are expecting.

Talk to you next week, but I’m not promising!

MAY GOD BLESS!

MOTHERS' DAY

Mothers Day. What does it mean to you? Whether you ae a mother or a child, this is a time to reflect at the times and years which you look back at your life.

Think back when your mother held your hand when you were out in a store.  When you learnt how to ride a bike, she stood by your side and ran along side to make sure you didn’t fall.

When you did fall she cleaned your skinned knee and put that special bandaid on it.

When you started o school, she wept as you walked into school that first time. How about when you had your first school dance, she made sure you were dressed to look like a million, taking pictures for the family album.

Then graduation, she wept again, seeing you now as an adult ready for the world. Whether it was on to a college or moving out to your apartment to stand on your own.

How about when you had that steady special someone? A wedding in the close future. Then comes the grandchildren whom your mother has explain it is her job to spoil them rotten.

Yes it’s Mother Day and a time to give her a great big hug and a kiss on both cheeks. Your mother is special. Treat her to this day and every day for she gave you life.

MAY GOD BLESS!

Choices

Choices, we all make choices everyday in our lives. For example, we chose to get up in the morning or sleep in. We decide what we are going to wear. Who, we are going to call, or who we plan on seeing.

Our decisions not only affect us but others too. Everyday and everyone we speak to not only affects them, and us but several others in the course of a day. Whether it is a small decision or a large one, our brain has to correlate or compute what we are going to say, do, and or react too.

Each movement our bodies make is also a choice we make. Sitting, standing, walking, running or laying down. Whether we are aware of our brains making that choice, we are doing it without thinking we are still making that choice.

Many things we do each day requires us to put on our thinking caps, but there are so many things that rule our day we are unaware of. These things just come natural to us and we do them we think without thinking.

The next time you pour yourself a cup of coffee or brew a pot of tea, stop and think about it. This is a conscious thought that you have choose to do. Some decisions take longer to make and others take no time at all.

I could go into more detail about the choices we make on a daily basis, monthly, yearly, but then you would have to reflect on the choices you have made in the past. Always remember, it's the choices you make today and in the future. The choices you have made in the past you can not change, but the choices you make today and for tomorrow you can change.
                                                            MAY GOD BLESS!

Promises

How many times have you had a promise made to you that was broken? Promises are meant to be kept and never broken. Just even the little ones are meant to be kept. How many times have you made a promise? Did you keep those promises? Or did you break them?
Sometimes it isn't your fault that a promise is broken, but most of the time a promise is broken by the person that made it due to circumstances beyond there control.
If you make a promise you should try to keep it, but if you can't you should at least warn the person you made the promise to there is a change you will not be able to keep it. This way they can't take out there heartbreak on you.
Do you remember someone making a promise to you and holds up three fingers and say "Boy Scott honor"? Did they keep there promise? Or was it quickly broken?
I try not to make promises anymore because I know in my heart it will be broken. Even to my children, I never promise them anything. I do however do tell them if its in my power I will try. This way I'm not making a promise, but letting them know if I can I will.
So if you are one that makes promises and can't keep them, STOP making promises, and use what I do, IF its in my power I will. This will keep you from breaking some ones heart.
                                                MAY GOD BLESS!

EASTER

The blog for this week is a very simple one. There is no news on this home front. Working on a new novel seems to be making progress but it does seem to be a little slower than I normal write.  Why you ask? Because although I love to write. There are outside influences which have been flooding my mind.

We had four people which dropped in from Canada to spend a couple of days with us. We love company, and my husband is from Canada and this helps him catch up on all the news from his hometown. They weren’t here long, it was just a stopping off place as two of them where going on a cruise. The other two were on there way home from the Fort Myers where they were on vacation.

It’s always nice to see them, and just as nice as to help my husband keep in the loop of his hometown. I also had company from North Carolina when my daughter and my two great grand children came to see me this week also.

Only problem was my one great granddaughter was sick and I had to make her wear a mask. With my getting ready to have radiation treatments I certainly don’t need to become sick with a cold or even worse a touch of bronchitis or pneumonia. It feels like my body hasn’t really recovered from my surgery.

They were at Disney for the week so it really wasn’t an problem for them to drop by for an hour or two and then go back to Disney. I hate the fact I couldn’t ask them to stay overnight but under the circumstances they understood.

The next five weeks are going to be extremely hard on me and with God’s strength I know I’ll be just fine.

Well, I guess that’s all for now. I’ll be blogging every week on my process and hoping all well take care to protect themselves with annual check-ups and test.

                                                MAY GOD BLESS!

Easter

Easter Day! When children wake up and find Easter Baskets full of candy, different colored eggs and all the trimmings that go along with Easter. Easter egg hunts and finding them out in the yard before the neighbors dog finds them first. For adults we enjoy watching them scurry around and the excitement on their faces is worth a million.
