Writing a Novel!

Writing a novel becomes like work, but enjoyable work when you love doing something which gives you pleasure doing. It involves a lot of patients too. Sometimes it’s hard doing the research for a pacific scene or making sure the characters in your novel are correctly dressed for the time period you are writing about. You say what does their clothing have to do with how they look? It’s very important. You won’t want a lady dressed as the queen of England in the fourteenth century dress when you are writing about the twenty first century. It would look pretty silly. Just like the scenes in you novel. You wouldn’t want the ocean rushing to the shore when you have your characters climbing a mountain in the Ozark mountains. There is no ocean in sight. The importance of making sure you have the scene set and the period appropriately dressed is very important for the mind of the reader so they can relate to your scene and your characters. Even the vehicles they drive if you have a car chase in your novel. So remember the readers are very smart and they catch these little things. Even the weather is sometimes very important. Was it snowing in the middle of summer? You laugh but without being careful this little slip in a very serious novel can make the reader wonder what the heck you are doing.
